Meagan's Way Foundation was founded in memory of Meagan Betcher. Diagnosed with ovarian cancer in February 2013, Meagan was determined to live a life of significance, and she became an inspiration to many - from patients and survivors to care givers and hospital staff.
A fierce Mama Bear, Meagan embraced motherhood, sharing her passion for life with her sons. She never faltered in her commitment to her family, with unwavering determination to nurture and protect her children. Meagan's legacy is one of service to the community, of doing the right thing because it's the right thing to do. She was deeply committed to helping the people she met on her own cancer journey and was a source of comfort for many. Meagan and her husband Joe met several patients and families that did not have the support network and financial means to afford life-saving treatment. Meagan quickly realized that too many patients were either forced into medical debt or had to choose between paying household expenses and necessary medical treatments. To Meagan, this was unacceptable. |
Because no human being should be forced to choose between paying the mortgage and life-saving medical treatment, Meagan's family founded Meagan's Way Foundation to help cancer patients throughout Michigan by providing emergency financial assistance so they can focus their resources on treatment and recovery.
