Chip was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in July 2023. Having been a healthy person with little illness in his life, he knew something was wrong in the month of March 2023 when his energy waned and was easily fatigued. It was difficult to get through the workday. By August 5, he had lost over fifty pounds. He has since had several surgeries and various treatments to combat the cancer. For eight weeks he could not eat and was on a feeding tube. Since his initial diagnosis, they have found bone cancer in his spine and cervical areas as well. There is a chance he will need a bone marrow transplant. In a short time, he has fought through the most trying of times, but his focus is on beating this disease and staying positive with a good sense of humor. His family refers to him lovingly as Ironman and he plans to live up to that moniker. Meagan’s Way also has plans to help Chip in any way possible. In addition to the cash assistance, there will be a fundraiser at the Mona Lake Boat Club in Norton Shores on Sunday, April 21, 2024. Stay tuned for more details on the time and what will be in store for that day. Meagan’s Way director Mike Houle recently delivered some financial relief to Chip Norwood, wife Deb and their furry companions.
